![]() The walls are decorated with old photos of the Grandfather of the family and some other nostalgia. Be prepared for the cheering from the staff if it's a close game. Pick a good table and you can watch the ball game or whatever sports is currently playing. ![]() The dining room is full of old style arborite tales with bench style seats. If you're into draft or bottled beer you van step up to the mini bar in the dining room and order and pay for your drink and take it with you. Once your turn arrives your bun is loaded with your choice from a large selection and don't forget to ask for pickles on the side! Then your burger or steak or chicken is added to the bun and your off to find a seat and enjoy the feast. Your tray is placed on the counter the drink appears soon after and you wait in line to chose the toppings from large steel bowls. You proceed from the entrance and place your order and pay get your soft drink milkshake or coffee and are serenaded by one of the family who will call out the order to the guy on the grill. The food is served in a plastic basket lined with paper. If I'm hungry the onion rings and the homemade burger will satisfy your hunger. Combos abound fries salad onion rings are all great. The basic burger is just not the same being supplied by a vendor. The All star Homemade burger made on the premises is the way to go. They also offer chicken and steak and hot dogs. The menu is pure old style burgers with all the toppings. I've been going there for over 20 years and it never changes save for a new TV or another family member stepping up to take a spot behind the counter. If you relish stepping back in time to homemade goodness and family service this place won't disappoint. It is a drive up and park versus a drive in as the name implies. Goldenstar has been a fixture on Yonge Street since the 60's.
